1893 TURKISH MAUSERS sold out
ANTIQUE 8MM MAUSERS sOLD OUT
These 1893 mausers, similar to the 1893 Spanish mauser, were made by Mauser at Oberndorf, Germany, between 1894 and 1896, for the Ottoman Turkish Empire of Sultan Abdul Hamid II. They were used in the Balkan Wars, in WWI at Gallipoli, in Mesopotamia, and in Palestine, in the war with Greece after WWI, and in countless border skirmishes with Persia, Syria, the USSR, and rebellions. In the 1930's they underwent a major arsenal rebuild. They were rebarreled in standard 8x57 Mauser, and most had the stocks replaced with a new pistol grip type of Turkish walnut. The original magazine interrupters were removed and most had the interrupter box ground off and the perso-arabic script on the receiver buffed off. They are safe to shoot with any US made 8x57 ammo, but should not be used with military surplus or imported 8mm.
3 are available from my collection. All stocks are pistol grip, and bores shiny with very good rifling. The receivers are patinaed brown-black and all have cleaning rods. Non-matching as bolts were not matched in rework.
barrel date 1939 and 1940 ( All are antiques as receivers were made before 1899 )
